Cigars should be kept in a cedar lined storage box called a humidor. The cedar helps flavor and age the cigar. Cedar also holds moisture well which helps keep humidity at a constant level.
Cigars should be kept in a humidor with temperatures of 70% humidity and 70 F. This is the absolute perfect temperature. The tobacco burns smoothly and tastes at its best when kept at this temperature. A dry cigar burns fast and has a harsh flavor. A damp cigar will be hard to keep lit and can grow mold while it is in storage.
Humidors should always close tightly. Your humidor should have ahumidifier inside. Ahygrometer is optional but very much recommended so you know what the humidity level is.
