HYGROMETER CALIBRATION Sometimes when you buy a humidor it comes with a hygrometer. The hygrometer usually looks like a dial. When you season your humidor for the first time and do everything right but you hygrometer is not reading close to 70%, that means that you need to calibrate it. If you humidor comes with the dial model of a humidor fine, just use it. But, if you need to buy a hygrometer I suggest that you spend a little bit more and buy a digital one. Digital hygrometers are very easy to use because it tells you the humidty, very easy, nothing to calibrate, The only time you will have to do anything is put in a new battery every year or two.
To calibrate your hygrometer, simply wrap it up in a wet cloth for a half hour. The pointer should now read 94-96%. If this is not the case, re-adjust the hygrometer to 96% using a screwdriver on the back of the hygrometer
